Final Double Page Spread

This is my final draft for my double page spread. I made another film strip down the side of the left page, this is to frame the whole double page spread, and it frames all the information within the pages. I think the film strip looks appealing and catches the readers attention. There isnt just one picture used on the spread, so by creating the strip allowed me to use more photos linked with the interview.

Draft Four - Double Page Spread

This is my fourth draft of my double page spread. I have made another text box, as before the text wasnt clear to read, and there was too much space on the right hand side of the page. The fact the interview is now split into two boxes makes it easier to read and the writing doesnt look cramped together.

Draft Three - Double Page Spread

This is the third draft for my double page spread. I have made a film stirp along the top of the page, as this shows a link between the two pages and also looks appealing. It also alows more photos to be shown on the two pages without it taking up the space and the pages and also, it doesnt dominate the text.

Draft Two - Double Page Spread

This is my second draft for my double page spread. To improve this from the first draft that I did, I changed the font of the sunheadings 'JUL.I.AN' and 'the interview'. I have used the same font that i have used on the previous pages such as the front cover and the contents page. I have also moved the photograph further along the page so its easier to see and isnt in the bottom corner of the page. I have also moved the subheading more centre in the page over laping onto the other page, which clearly shows its a double page spread talking about the same story and person.

First Draft - Double Page Spread

This is my first draft of my double page spread. To improve this, I will make the two pages joined together so that it doesnt look as seperate.

Final Contents Page

This is my final contents page. I have put an image of the front cover onto this contents page because I think it relates well to the whole subject of the magazine. The dark colours have been used so that the brighter colours on the top are most eye catching, and this shows the main story of the magazine, this being the double page spread.

Third Draft - Contents Page

This is my thrid draft for my contents page. The only change I have made to this is I have changed the font of the heading 'contents' to a more bold font which stands out most on the page and the font seems most appropiate for the electro genre.

Second Draft - Contents Page

This is my second draft for my contents page. I changed the colour of the text and now it is clearer to read and the colour of the text fits better with the colour scheme. I have also changed the font of the text. The font I have used is also used on the front cover, so this therefore, has the continous link throughout.

First Draft - Contents Page

This is my first draft for my contents page. To improve this I will change the font of the text so that it links to the front cover and has a continuous link. The font used on this contents page is all the same font. The colours used dont stand out very well on the page and it looks to much of all one colour. To improve, I will change the font and also change the colour of the text.

Final Front Cover

This is my final front cover. I have changed the font, this is because on the preious covers the font was to basic and looked quite boring. However, this text is more appealing. I have backed the text with coloured strips which makes the text stand out on the cover. I think the colours work well together and the colours used are aimed at both male and female.

Fifth Draft - Front Cover

This is my fifth draft of my front cover. I have improved this by adding more text down the right side of the page and used a more creative and unique font. I think this font matches the genre of electro very well. Also, I have used a smaller barcode and put it in the bar at the bottom of the page. I changed the barcode because it looked to dominant on the page and stood out more then the masthead.

fourth draft - front cover

This is my fourth draft of my front cover. I have only changed the bottom of the page with the advertisement. Before it was pink, which I thought looked to much on the page and didnt go well with the green coloured top. However, now it links in with the page as it is the same colour as the masthead backing. I have changed the font of the text inside the box, and made it the same font as the slogan. I have done this because its more appealing and not just a standard plain font.

third draft - front cover

This is my third draft of my front cover for my magazine. Firstly, I have changed the top of the magazine, the masthead. I changed this because the font is more suitbale to the 'electro' genre and looks more appealing. The masthead is backed by a strip of colour which makes it stand out more and also looks more profesional. I changed the font and now it looks bolder and more aesthetically pleasing. I also put the slogan 'keeping you inbeat with the music..' underneath the masthead because it is catchy, and something which readers can asociate with my magazine. I have also changed the background colour from brown to black. This is so the text and the photo stands out more and looks more sharp.

progress

This post is to note that although I have not posted a post in a while, I have been working on my front cover, contents page and double page spread, therefore there was nothing for me to post while progressing on those.
